Why I love Backyard Baseball

I love Backyard Baseball because of its intensity, and also because you get to choose your own players. There are no trades, no free agents, so you can keep your stars for a long time. Also, if you get some of the older versions of the game, you get to have some of the older stars, like Mark McGwire or Jose Canseco.

New Kid on the Block

Francisco Liriano has just been amazing. Nobody knew him at the beginning of the season, but now everybody knows him. The pitches that Liriano has are something else. I expect we'll see him in many more All-Star Games.

Do Twins need more hitting in their system?

Well, the Twins have lots of great pitchers in their farm system, but they need more hitting, especially if Justin Morneau or Joe Mauer gets hurt. My ideas for getting good hitters would be to check out what's available at AAA Rochester, or maybe AA New Britain. Otherwise, they'll need to get some hitters from the entry draft. I haven't seen much of the new guy they signed, Durazo. I think Jason Tyner will be a good addition to the Twins lineup.

As for pitching, maybe the Twins should bring back Boof Bonser if there is an emergency.
